Falasteen Awad
Co-founderCo-founder and manager of Orient Spirit Development, she works alongside a dedicated team of professionals committed to creating meaningful, lasting change in the lives of individuals with challenges, with a mission to empower them with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to actively participate as productive members of society. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and bring over 30 years of experience in local community development. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with both national and international organizations, contributing to initiatives that promote inclusion, capacity building, and sustainable development. she has extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing specialized training programs tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of individuals with disabilities. Her work focuses on practical empowerment, social integration, and unlocking individual potential to support inclusive and resilient communities.

Sami Nasr
Co-founderSami Nasr is an entrepreneur and co-founder of Orient Spirit Development Center since 2006. A graduate of the American University of Beirut (1983) with studies in economics and public administration, he began his career in banking, spending 13 years working in the UAE financial sector. He later launched and ran his own retail business serving the hospitality industry, gaining hands-on experience in operations, client service, and supply chain management. Combining his finance background and entrepreneurial expertise, Sami has helped shape Orient Spirit’s strategic direction and program development, focusing on sustainable growth and capacity building in the region.
Accountant
Ma’ad Abu Baker
AccountantMa’ad Abu Baker works as an accountant and human resources officer at the center. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Jordan. He has a training certificate in general accounting and an expert course in labor laws and social security. He has experience in financial and administrative affairs, personnel management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in addition to dealing with banks and relevant entities. He is characterized by accuracy and high professionalism in his work.
Marketing Manager
Sarah Haddad
Marketing ManagerSarah Haddad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages (major in French, minor in English) from Yarmouk University and is a results-driven marketing and communications specialist with extensive experience in hospitality marketing, branding, digital campaigns and PR, plus brief roles in commerce, finance and entrepreneurship. After a deliberate career shift, she now works at a OSD supporting youth and adolescents with disabilities, combining program coordination with direct, hands‑on teaching, leading life‑skills sessions, fitness activities and art support, while applying strong organizational, communication and inclusive‑practice skills to create nurturing, outcome‑focused learning environments.
Educational Developer & Drama Teacher
Tala Said
Educational Developer & Drama TeacherTala holds a BA in Theatre and Sociology from the USA and an MA in Education from the UK. She has nine years of experience as an IBMYP Drama teacher, designing inquiry-based curricula and directing performances that foster creativity, collaboration, and confidence, and two years of experience as an MYP Personal Project Coordinator in both Amman and Saudi Arabia, guiding students and supervisors throughout the process. At Orient Spirit Development, Tala works as a Business and Educational Developer and Drama Teacher, where she designs inclusive educational and vocational programs and contributes to the strategic and operational growth of the center. She uses the arts as a tool for empowerment, independence, and long-term sustainability for people with disabilities.
Mental Health Counselor
Ashraf Haddad
Mental Health CounselorAshraf Haddad is a Development Consultant and Mental Health Counsellor with over a decade of international experience in refugee work, sustainable development, and organizational culture. Holding a Master’s degree in Coexistence and Conflict Resolution from Brandeis University, he specializes in conflict analysis, socio-political research, education for special needs, capacity building, and psychosocial support.
Music Therapist
Rula Barghouthi
Music TherapistRula Barghouthi is a highly accomplished Music Therapist with over a decade of clinical and educational experience across the Middle East and Europe. A specialist in the Qanoun, Rula holds a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Artez University of the Arts in the Netherlands and a Bachelor’s degree from the National Music Conservatory in Jordan (Yarmouk University). Her expertise is further backed by advanced certifications in Neurological Music Therapy.
Since 2017, Rula has been a vital part of the Orient Spirit Development Center, while simultaneously serving as an Artistic Lead and teacher for Action for Hope and a coach for the Youth for Music Association. An internationally recognized mentor, she also works with Music Without Borders (UK) and has lectured at Artez University. Rula’s work continues to bridge the gap between clinical excellence and the soul of Arabic music, resonating with students and international audiences alike.

Belal Ashmouti
Music TeacherFor Belal, music is a first language and a lifelong pulse. As an accomplished percussionist, educator, and cultural collaborator, he has spent over a decade transforming rhythm into a powerful tool for learning, healing, and human connection. Specializing in Arabic percussion, Belal works at the vital intersection of tradition and community engagement. His extensive experience includes leading music programs for underserved youth and collaborating with prestigious international organizations such as the British Council, the Anna Lindh Foundation, and Action for Hope. In 2024, he was awarded the Khotwa Grant for his project “IMSA,” which focuses on the traditional handcrafting of percussion instruments for overlooked communities. At Orient Spirit, Belal brings this “pulse of heritage” to our students, using rhythm to foster dialogue, pride in ancestry, and pure creative expression.

Ghada Fraiji
Sewing TrainerGhada has been a vital part of Orient Spirit since its very inception in 2006. Her expertise is backed by extensive training in sewing, fashion design, and sustainable crafts like fabric recycling and straw basket weaving. With 13 years of experience at the Jordan River Foundation, Ghada possesses a mastery of traditional arts, including cross-stitch (Fallahi) embroidery, crochet, and macramé. A mother of five, she balances her technical precision with a deep love for handmade crafts, helping our students preserve traditional heritage while exploring their own creative potential through various manual arts.

Nehad Mhaisen
Sewing TrainerNihad Muheisen is a cornerstone of the Orient Spirit team, where she has shared her expertise since 2012. With a Diploma in General Sciences and a background in tailoring from the Al-Hussein Society for the Habilitation of the Physically Challenged, Nihad brings precision and artistry to everything she touches. Her journey is one of remarkable leadership and resilience; she served as the head of the Cultural Committee at the Al-Mustaqbal Club for Physical Disabilities and was a wheelchair basketball player where she won several medals. A creative soul at heart, she has a passion for drawing and flower arranging, Nihad has also edited the “Voice of the Disabled” magazine for several editions. Her decades of experience, including 23 years at the Kumbaz workshop, make her an invaluable mentor in sewing and traditional crafts.

Sewing TrainerRima is a highly skilled instructor who joined Orient Spirit in 2011. With a scientific stream high school diploma and advanced sewing certifications from the Rosary Sisters College, she combines technical logic with artistic finesse. Rima honed her skills working with renowned names like the Shasha’a workshop and the Jordan River Foundation, where she spent eight years perfecting her craft. Passionate about drawing and traditional Fallahi embroidery, Rima’s teaching style is characterized by precision and a deep appreciation for detail. She empowers her students to master the delicate balance between technical construction and artistic expression.

Maisaa Qandeel
Sewing TrainerMaysaa joined the Orient Spirit family in early 2025, bringing with her a legacy of innovation in Jordanian fashion. She was part of the original Kumbaz workshop team at its founding in 1987 and later became a pioneer in her own right, designing and executing the first-ever embroidered wedding dress. Known for her warm, affectionate, and cheerful personality, Maysaa creates a nurturing environment for her students. As a mother of four, her patience and kindness shine through in her teaching, where she blends her deep technical knowledge of dressmaking with a modern, creative flair.

Mohammad Abu Qubu’
Carpentry TrainerMohammad Bashir Abu Qubu’ is a master of carpentry and furniture manufacturing with over 30 years of deep professional experience. As a certified vocational trainer, Mohammad has played a pivotal role in qualifying and graduating countless technical cadres. For the past 13 years, he has specialized in training students with disabilities, applying precise methodological foundations tailored to their unique learning needs. Known for his unwavering commitment to quality and technical accuracy, Mohammad ensures that every project at Orient Spirit is managed according to the highest professional standards, empowering his students to achieve excellence in craftsmanship.
Pottery & Glass Upcycling Trainer
Hend Abbadi
Pottery & Glass Upcycling TrainerHend is a master craftswoman with a distinguished career in ceramics, pottery, and handmade arts. Her professional journey began with intensive vocational training at the Noor Al Hussein Foundation (1996–1998), where she built a solid technical foundation. She later spent eight years at the Iraq Al-Amir Women’s Association, specializing in heritage-inspired ceramic production. Driven by a commitment to sustainability and innovation, Hend completed specialized glass upcycling training through Orient Spirit. Today, she is known for her dedication and precision, sharing her deep love for traditional and recycled crafts with her students to ensure these artistic legacies continue.
Mosaic Trainer
Badi Ejailat
Mosaic TrainerBadi Ejailat is a dedicated mosaic artist and trainer who masterfully blends technical restoration with creative storytelling. A father and a mentor, Badi holds a Diploma in Mosaic Production and Restoration (2016) from the prestigious Madaba Institute for Mosaic Art and Restoration (MIMAR). His professional journey is uniquely diverse, having balanced his artistic passion with extensive experience in the hospitality sector. This is further supported by specialized certifications from the Madaba Tourism Association (in cooperation with JEDCO) and the Jordan Restaurant Association (in cooperation with USAID-SIYAHA). At Orient Spirit, Badi utilizes his precise technical skills and patient teaching style to guide students through the ancient art of mosaic, helping them piece together history, heritage, and personal creativity

Yoga TeacherElizabeth Major is a multi-faceted wellness practitioner dedicated to guiding students toward holistic harmony and self-discovery. With a diverse background that spans from hospitality as a professional Hotelier to the deep resonance of sound therapy, Elizabeth brings a unique, grounded energy to her sessions. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, a skilled Gong and Sound player, and a Tomatis APP therapist. Her expertise extends into the realms of German New Medicine (GNM) advisory and Trance Shamanic dance, offering students a profound spiritual and physical experience. A firm believer in the healing power of nature’s elements, she is also a distributor of Kangen Water. At Orient Spirit, Elizabeth facilitates transformative yoga and sound healing journeys, helping our community achieve balance through movement, vibration, and conscious living.

Social Media ExecutiveJude Al Jazi is a Social Media Executive who blends creative strategy with a technical background in AI, Data Science, and Robotics. An award-winning veteran of the World Robot Olympiad (2nd Place, 2018) and First Global Mexico, Jude brings an analytical mindset honed through years of competitive engineering and QA testing to the world of social media management. Having transitioned from a decorated competitor to a First Lego League Coach, Jude remains dedicated to utilizing cutting-edge technology to foster community and brand growth.

Coordinator & Agriculture AssistantMo’tamad is the heart of the Orient Spirit Development Center. More than just a team member, he is the guardian of our space and a dedicated supporter of every student who walks through our doors. With a deep passion for nature and sustainability, Mo’tamad has advanced his skills through specialized training in Aquaponics, Sandponics, and modern agricultural systems. Today, he serves as an Agricultural Trainer Assistant, where he applies his hardworking nature and technical knowledge to help our gardens thrive. Known for his kindness and unwavering spirit, Mo’tamad’s presence ensures that the center remains a loving, productive, and welcoming environment for all.

Assistant Trainer Specialty: Accessory MakingLeen discovered her passion for accessory design during the specialization phase. Once an introvert who was overly attached to her family, which hindered her independence, she blossomed into a confident and creative leader. Today, she leads our accessories class as a student-teacher, inspiring younger students to find their artistic voices. She also supervises our students participating in the job coaching program at Fairmont Hotel, showing them what independence and responsibility look like

Assistant Trainer Specialty: Hand EmbroideryAzizeh’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience and the impact of a nurturing community. Supported by her foster mother and “incubated” by Orient Spirit (OSD), Azizeh overcame years of instability to redefine her future. After ten years away from school, she is now courageously studying for her Tawjihi while serving as an Assistant Trainer specializing in Hand Embroidery. Her professional growth has led her to a vital leadership role where she supervises students in the job coaching program at the Geneva Hotel. Azizeh’s life proves that with the right support, your past doesn’t define your success, it fuels it.

Assistant Trainer Specialty: MosaicMuthanna is a versatile artist at Orient Spirit, specializing in drawing, mosaic, and hand embroidery. Though early trauma in Iraq caused delays in his learning and left him deeply introverted, he has found his voice through creativity. Today, he is a steady presence in our advanced fashion design group, where he designs patterns and operates complex machinery. Now, he uses his calm and patient nature to mentor his peers as an Assistant Trainer, proving that art is a powerful tool for communication and self-confidence.

Assistant Trainer Owner of the first incubatorDina, once a student at Orient Spirit, is now leading her own path as a Machine Sewing Teacher at our center while incubating her very own fashion brand through our Atelier Incubator program. She has become one of our most skilled and creative sewing talents. Her transition from student to educator and entrepreneur reframes what leadership by people with disabilities can look like. She now mentors others, proving that inclusive education can spark self-sustaining cycles of empowerment.
