2006 – Establishment in Fuhais
Orient Spirit Development was founded in Fuhais city with only a few students and four activities.  A safe, supportive space for youth with disabilities was established as first holistic center in Jordan.

2008 – Expansion to Amman
The center moved to the capital, Amman, to accommodate more students, expand training opportunities, and reach a wider community. Today, OSD offers 14 training programs, guided by 14 dedicated staff members, and has developed many remarkable success stories.

2011– Music Therapy & Band Formation
Music therapy was introduced to enhance students’ expression and confidence. Over time, it evolved into a professional musical band, where students perform both locally and internationally.

2013 – International Training in Japan
In partnership with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), one staff member and one student traveled to Japan to receive specialized training on the employment of people with disabilities, bringing back valuable knowledge to enhance OSD programs.

2014 – Job Coaching Partnerships
OSD had an agreement with Geneva Hotel and Fairmont Hotel to implement a job-coaching program. Students began receiving  training in real workplaces,  preparing them for employment opportunities.

2014 – Student Gym Established, Funded by Al Hekma
A gym was established to promote health, fitness, and fun, giving students access to physical activities adapted to their needs.

2015 – Royal visit
Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited Orient Spirit Development, expressing her happiness with the center’s performance and the spirit of empowerment fostered among the students.

2016 – Pottery Workshop Established
OSD launched a pottery workshop funded by UPA, using clay art as occupational therapy and to enhance fine motor skills while also creating marketable products.

2018 – Employment at Fairmont Hotel
Two students were employed by Fairmont Hotel after completing their Job Coaching training.

2018 – Aquaponics Project phase 1

Introduction of a sustainable aquaponics system, where students produce fresh, organic products like kale, parsly and lettuce while learning environmentally friendly farming skills.

2019 – International Performance in Palestine
OSD’s musical band was invited to Palestine to perform on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a proud moment showcasing the talents and inclusion of OSD students.

2020 – First Fashion Show
Launch of the Fashion Design Workshop, the first project of its kind in Jordan, where students participated in design, tailoring, and production. The introductory fashion show in 2020 presented their creativity and skills in a professional catwalk event.

2022 – Glass Upcycling Training & Workshop
OSD staff received specialized training in glass upcycling and launched a workshop that collects waste glass and transforms it into marketable, eco-friendly items, combining sustainability with skill development.

2023 – Second Fashion Show
The second major fashion show was held in Fairmont Hotel, where students’ proved their abilities to show their achievements.

2025 – Aquaponics Project – Phase II (Supported by EU & RSS)
With support from the European Union through the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), OSD expanded the aquaponics project into a high-technology system. This phase introduced new crops such as cherry tomatoes,

2025 – First Incubator for Special Needs
With support from Al Fanar, OSD established the first-of-its-kind incubator for persons with disabilities. This income-generating project empowers students to feel productive, confident, and financially independent.

Over the past decade, 20 students have gained employment in different institutions, while four graduates now work at OSD itself, proving the effectiveness and the quality of our programs.

2025 – Project Visibility

As a step toward enhancing the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in society and highlighting their abilities as educators, we launched the “Visibility” project. 

In our first collaboration with Montessori School, our skilled students led and trained MMS students to create gifts for their mothers. 

Through this collaboration, our students gained hands-on experience, while also promoting values of empathy, respect, and inclusion. 

The Visibility project proves that inclusion is not a one-time event, but a continuous, steady journey toward meaningful change.

2025 –Puppet Theatre Museum Workshops

A new collaboration with the Puppet Theatre Museum allows our students to learn puppet design and construction, and use their creations to develop and perform original shows.

2025 – Website Development

The official website will showcase student work, share success stories, announce events, and serve as a platform for product sales and sponsorship programs.
