Who we are
OSD was founded on one belief: ability has no boundaries when the right opportunities exist. We serve young people with mild to moderate disabilities through a supportive, structured environment where learning is practical, personalized, and rooted in dignity.
We are more than a training center—we are an inclusion-driven ecosystem where learners, families, educators, and partners work together to create real pathways to independence, employment, and belonging.
Mission and vision
Mission: Empower adolescents and youth with disabilities for a more inclusive and productive society—through vocational skills, life skills, and creative development.
Vision: A world where youth with disabilities live fulfilled, productive lives and actively contribute to their communities.
Our story
OSD began in 2006 with a small program and a big dream: to create a safe, empowering space where young people with disabilities can learn, create, and thrive. Over the years, that dream has grown into a full journey—from exploration to specialization to production and, for many learners, employment.
From our earliest workshops to today’s expanded programs and public collaborations, our progress has always been guided by one principle: when learners are seen, supported, and challenged, they rise.
What makes our approach different
OSD blends vocational training with personal development so learners build both practical capability and personal confidence. Our model supports growth through clear progression stages, helping learners move from beginner fundamentals to advanced mastery, leadership, and real-world readiness.
Key elements of our approach include:
- Learner-centered, inclusive teaching that respects each person’s pace and strengths
- Hands-on learning that turns skills into real products, performances, and outcomes
- A structured pathway from exploration to specialization, production, and employment
- Job coaching and workplace integration to bridge learning with real opportunity
- A community culture where learners can become leaders and even student-teachers
What we offer
Our programs are designed to build independence through skills, creativity, and meaningful participation. Training areas may include:
- Vocational training: sewing and fashion, embroidery, accessories, pottery, mosaics, carpentry, woodwork, aquaponic gardening, cooking, and more
- Creative and performing arts: drama, music, stage performance, and creative showcases
- Therapeutic and wellbeing support: drama/music therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and mental wellbeing support
- Life skills development: communication, teamwork, responsibility, daily independence, and practical life knowledge
Values we live by
Our values shape how we teach, how we support, and how we measure success:
- Empowerment: Building self-worth through real achievement
- Inclusion: Every person belongs and every voice matters
- Creativity: Expression and innovation as tools for transformation
- Integrity: Respect, trust, and responsibility in every relationship
- Joy: Learning should be spirited, motivating, and human
Community impact
OSD is committed to inclusion that’s visible—on stages, in workplaces, in schools, and in everyday community life. Through events, exhibitions, performances, and partnerships, learners share their talents publicly and challenge stigma through excellence.
We also believe empowerment grows stronger when shared. That’s why our work extends beyond our classrooms—through collaborations, outreach initiatives, and opportunities that connect learning to real life.
